This is going to be March Madness at it’s best folks ! The I-95 Corridor From DCA to PHL to NYC and BOS can expect a top 5 March snowstorm with many of these locations getting at least 8″ to 16″ of heavy wet snow and howling winds with near Blizzard conditions from Near PHL to NYC and Boston !

Here are my snow/sleet estimates for selected locations for Monday night through Tuesday Night.

Starting here in my area of SW and Central VA !
We shall escape the brunt of this storm here in the LYH and ROA VA areas with about 2″ to 5″ of snow and sleet for Monday night into early Tuesday morning. Further north towards CHO VA 4″ to 8″ can be expected.

Northern VA / MD:
DCA and BWI: 8″-14″ for Monday night and Tuesday.

For The Delaware Valley Region:
Northern DE and Interior Southern NJ:
6″ to 10″ with some sleet and rain mixed in for a time later Monday night into early Tuesday with wet snow most of the Day on Tuesday.

Only 3″-6″ for Extreme Southern/Coastal NJ (ACY) (MIV) into Central DE (DOV) with plenty of mixing and change over to rain and sleet during the height of the storm.

For PHL / SE PA and Central NJ:
Heavy wet snow and near Blizzard conditions for later Monday night into Tuesday evening ! Total snow accumulations of 10″ to 16″ can be expected !

The Lehigh Valley into northern NJ and NYC:
Blizzard conditions with 12″-18″ for Tuesday into Tuesday Night !

The brunt of this storm for the Northern Mid-Atlantic will occur from later Monday night into Tuesday evening. Snow rates during the height of this storm of 1″-2″ per hour are likely and yes Thundersnow is possible towards PHL and NYC areas on Tuesday.

Strong winds and near Blizzard conditions will develop during Tuesday and continue into Tuesday evening before tapering off to snow showers Tuesday night.

Take Care and be safe folks !
